John Jay Fellow, David Eastman, Named Claremont Institute Lincoln Fellow

July 15, 2011

The Claremont Institute announced the 2011 class of distinguished Lincoln Fellows this month. John Jay Fellow, David Eastman, was named to class of distinguished young professionals whose alumni include senior staff of United States Representatives and Senators, White House staff and speech writers, senior advisors in numerous U.S. Departments and agencies, and elected politicians.

Lincoln fellows meet with the Claremont Institute's Senior Fellows and other distinguished visiting scholars to study American politics and political thought. In intensive daily seminars and relaxed evening symposia, fellows discuss a wide selection of great American readings. Topics of study and discussion include the Founding, the Civil War, the Progressive Era, the Great Society, and the enduring modern disputes between liberalism and conservatism.

I have realized just how important it is to be grounded in the Word when examining serious thoughts.... I have become more convinced than ever of the necessity of the John Jay Institute in beginning an education for young conservatives in the good, the beautiful, and the sacred."
